BIOGRAPHY
"I was born in Baltimore, Maryland. I went to school at California College of Arts and Crafts and Maryland Institute in the seventies. I studied painting. About thirteen years ago, I began to sculpt. I had worked in television as a designer for 10 years. I told myself that I had given ten years to work that I hated, I would give myself five years to do work I loved and see where it had taken me. I have not quit yet. I love to sculpt."
Karen Swenholt is presently the Artist in Residence at Washington Shakespeare Company. She is a member of the National Sculpture Society and the Washington Sculptor Group.
