STATEMENT

My work has developed from the perspective of an archeologist interpreting a network of alchemies between the growth and decay of the contemporary urban setting. Through drawing, I demonstrate integrated arrangements of previous vernacular methods in the post-industrial landscape to facilitate a dialogue about the disconnection of Western design as a tool to elucidate biological systems that are inherent within materials and construction methods. In both process and concept, a drawing is executed with consideration of how materials are used in relation to the images I depict. My work calls upon a restructuring of deconstructionist ideas, creating an almost Adventure Playground-like atmosphere that is in favor of the owner-built, owner-occupied metropolitan dwelling.
